Choose the Banner That Has Your Target

Use Special to target a Mythic with a Celestial Compass, Legacy for returning units such as Shadow Sorcerer, and Summer for limited Fishi, Armored Crusader, or Water Goddess while that banner is available. Special and Legacy use Gems; Summer uses Summer Pearls.

Special, Legacy, and Summer Compared

BannerCurrency and Summon Targets
SpecialUses Gems and has a rotating featured board. A Celestial Compass lets you select what your next eligible Special Mythic becomes.
LegacyUses Gems for a returning-unit pool that includes Shadow Sorcerer.
SummerCosts 150 Summer Pearls per summon and features limited Fishi, Armored Crusader, and Water Goddess.

Word Mage, Crush, and Lilia appeared on Special's featured board in a November 7 report. That lineup is a snapshot of a rotating board, so check the displayed units before spending Gems. Use it to judge the banner in front of you rather than expecting those names to remain featured.

Pick the unit you want before choosing where to summon. If you are considering several targets, decide which would help you most before committing currency. Saving until you have a clear goal is a sensible choice when nothing on the displayed board interests you.

Set Your Celestial Compass on Special

  1. Select Special in the summon menu. This puts you on the Gem banner whose next eligible Mythic can be directed by a Celestial Compass.
  2. Use a Celestial Compass to select the Mythic you want. Your choice determines what your next eligible Mythic summon from Special becomes.
  3. Review your Compass selection before continuing. You can change the selected Mythic before it arrives, letting you adjust your target if your priorities change.
  4. Summon on Special with Gems toward a Mythic result or pity. The Compass changes the next eligible Mythic result; activating it does not immediately grant the unit.
  5. Check your result when the selected Mythic arrives. That summon consumes the Compass and resets the banner's pity, completing your selected target.
  6. Use another Compass when you want to direct a later Special Mythic. After the previous Compass is consumed, subsequent Mythics return to ordinary selection until another is used.

Understand Mythic Pity and Featured Results

The Update 21 Special and Summer panels show Mythic pity counters reaching 400 summons. The counter measures summon progress toward pity. Check the panel on the banner you intend to use before deciding how much currency to commit.

On Special, the featured-pity mechanic distinguishes featured results from off-feature Mythics. Keep that distinction in mind when judging whether a pull delivered the outcome you wanted. A Celestial Compass lets you choose the next eligible Special Mythic instead of leaving that selection to the ordinary result.

Summer specifically states that a Mythic pull gives a featured unit. Its featured lineup includes Fishi, Armored Crusader, and Water Goddess, so consider whether you want that group before spending Summer Pearls. Choosing Summer for its featured group is a different decision from using a Compass to select a particular Special Mythic.

When your Compass-selected Mythic is summoned, Special's pity resets and the Compass is consumed. Later Mythics use ordinary selection until you activate another Compass. Plan around the displayed Special or Summer counter rather than a pity threshold remembered from an older event.

Starting With Your First Compass

I'm new and don't know where to start. How do I use the Compass for my first good Mythic?
Redeem eligible codes, then use your Compass to choose a Special-banner Mythic such as Elyssia. Collect Gems so you can continue toward a Mythic summon or pity. The Compass sets your next eligible Mythic result, so you still need to summon after making the selection.
Can I change my mind after selecting a Compass target?
Yes, you can change the selection before the selected Mythic arrives. The Compass is consumed when that Mythic is summoned. Review your choice before spending more Gems so it still matches the unit you want.
